Dr. Charlotte Yezhou Tan is an avid solo pianist, recitalist, as well as a music educator. Graduated from top music schools in the States, Dr. Tan earned her Doctorate from the University of Houston and her Master and Performance Diploma from Indiana University at Bloomington in Piano Performance; besides, she did her Professional Studies in Collaborative Piano at Cleveland Institute of Music. In the past few years, Dr. Tan held positions as a full-time Staff Pianist at the University of Central Florida as well as part-time adjunct Staff in multiple college programs, such as Kent State University, or Indiana University at Bloominton. Dr. Tan performed in major venues internationally, including Carnegie Hall in New York and Moores Opera House in Houston; she was also invited to perform with Kindred Spirit Orchestra in Canada and a concert-tour in China’s thirteen cities. As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with members and faculties from Alabama Symphony, Houston Symphony, Lincoln Music Society as well as Universities of Texas at Austin, West Carolina, Central Florida, and Houston. In addition, Dr. Tan has been teaching piano lessons for almost 20 years, and her love for teaching has only been increased, not less. As she had been the pupil of worldly renown concert pianists, such as Abbey Simon, Luba-Edlina Dubinsky, or Anita Pontremoli, Dr. Tan is passionate about passing the great tradition of playing piano to her students. Her students have earned Grade Certificates in the most renown examination board ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), and they have won prizes in competitions.
